Before switching ATM processors, review your current agreement, confirm that the proposed provider supports your machine and business, and agree on the transition steps. Keep your existing setup in view until the replacement arrangement is confirmed.
A processing conversation is more useful when it starts with specific equipment and contract details. Gather the information below before discussing a change for your Illinois location.
Identify your machine and configuration.
Have the ATM manufacturer, model and software information ready if you know it. Explain whether the machine uses internet or wireless connectivity and describe the issue you want to address.
A photo of a Hyosung or Genmega model does not establish processing compatibility. The particular machine, configuration and proposed setup need to be reviewed.
Read the agreement you already have.
Check the current term, cancellation requirements, notice provisions and any related equipment or service commitments. Do not assume that changing processing ends a separate placement, maintenance or cash-loading agreement.
If the equipment belongs to a placement provider, establish who is authorized to make changes. Placement and ownership involve different responsibilities, and the actual contract determines what applies.
Compare the fees and reporting.
Ask what transaction, network and other charges apply under the proposed arrangement. Review surcharge terms, any revenue share, the settlement process and the reporting tools available.
Bring a recent statement or a list of the charges you want explained to your consultation. Use the agreed setup and your own records when comparing costs; do not rely on a headline fee alone.
Confirm business eligibility.
Give the proposed provider your business type and location when discussing acceptance. If you operate a licensed cannabis dispensary, identify it clearly and ask what documentation is required. Eligibility must be confirmed before committing to equipment or a processing change.
Agree on the transition before canceling.
Ask what needs to change on the machine, who will perform the work and how the proposed timing fits your hours. Confirm the relevant cancellation obligations with your current provider and the setup requirements with the proposed provider.
Also discuss who will verify that transactions, reporting and settlement work after the change. Get the support contact and responsibilities clear before proceeding.
Keep cash loading in the conversation.
Processing and replenishment are separate responsibilities. Ask whether the proposed change affects who funds the cash, monitors levels or loads the machine. Our guide to who loads ATM cash explains the questions to settle.
